  The residents of the Sri Saradha Devi Illam Welfare Association, Malaysia have celebrated the pongal festival with great enthusiasm at our association. This festival is dedicated to the sun god, Surya Bhagawan, and corresponds to Makar Sankranti, the harvest festival under many regional names celebrated throughout India. The three days of the Pongal festival are called Surya Pongal, and Mattu Pongal and Kaanum Pongal.

Distribution of Food For The Needy Homeless :)

Sri Saradha Devi Ashram organised a distribution of food for the needy homeless in conjunction of the completion of our yearly celebration of Nine Goddess Prayers.

Food was cooked at our association and packed by the children of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram itself. The packed foods were then distributed to the homeless in Kuala Lumpur areas.

This is a yearly practice of our association that in a way educates our children the importance of sharing our blessings with other needy ones.
