On 14 November 2021, the members of Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Malaysia organised a Deepavali Luncheon for the children of Sri Saradha Devi Charity & Welfare Association (SSDI). The UPF Malaysia team were lead by their President, Professor Dr Sudesh Balasubramaniam.
This is the first time ever UPF Malaysia is collaborating with SSDI for a large scale event. There were many performances by the children of SSDI i.e. Dance and Silambam Martial Arts, Tong II Moo Do Martial Arts by UPF members, Song Presentation by UPF team as well as Silambam Performance by SSDI Silambam Club Master, Mr Manimaran.
It was also a very proud moment for all members of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram as our President, Dr Kumaran Adakalam was awarded by UPF with their renowned and prestigious Distinguished Humanitarian Award in recognition of Dr Kumaran's efforts in uplifting the community through education and all other humanitarian assistance rendered.
In conjunction with this, we also conducted the Silambam Belt Graduation Ceremony for all children of SSDI with Mr Sudesh presenting the graduation belts to all the children. We would like to congratulate all children of SSDI as well as all other students on their achievement.
The event ended with Global Peace Prayer by both UPF Malaysia and SSDI, as well as a thanking note by Dr Kumaran Adakalam, President of Sri Saradha Devi Charity and Welfare Association to all members of UPF. We take this opportunity once again to thank UPF team for this event with us.
