On Saturday, 1 June 2019 a briefing was held at Sri Saradha Devi Ashram with the press members on the launch of in-house diploma courses for the children of our association. This is the first of its kind for an underprivileged home to offer in-house diploma.
The in-house diploma courses are done with collaboration from the WHET Academy and Warisan Mayapada Hijau. There are two courses focused on for now i.e. Diploma in Culinary Arts and Diploma in Early Childhood Education. The courses will be undertaken by children of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram aged 14 and above.
The president of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram, Dr A. Kumaran explained that the main objective of this initiative is to provide an opportunity to our children in obtaining proper tertiary education and to become a graduate. It will be a stepping stone for our children in pursuing their degree later on. Children aged 14 who pursue this diploma course will be a graduate by the time they complete their SPM examination.
