Let's Plant A Tree... Protect The Mother Earth 2019 :)

In conjunction with Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Jeyanthi, Swamy Srila Sri Paramahamsa Thasar Mahasamadhi Day and 150 Years of Celebrating the Mahatma Gandhi, Sri Saradha Devi Ashram, Sri Ramakrishna Ashram and the High Commission of India joined hands for a tree planting activity at the Raja Musa Forest Reserve on 23 March 2019.

All children and volunteers took part in this noble activity that started at 8am and ended at 1pm. The event was further graced by the presence of Secretary of the High Commission of India, Mr Shiv Sagar and his family, who also joined with us in the tree planting. Altogether we managed to plant 600 seedlings successfully.

Why did we choose tree planting among all others?

As the saying goes, "He who plants a TREE, plants a HOPE". Those who plant a tree do not only love themselves... they are doing it for the love of future generation.
Briefing by the Forest Officer on Tree Planting Methods
It is an undeniable fact that trees are an important element in our daily life. The balance of our ecosystem greatly depends on the existence of trees. Trees and other plants help reduce heat in our surroundings. They also help remove harmful greenhouse gases by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. Trees also help absorb rainy water to avoid floods and soil erosion.
Trees have always been important in improving human life condition, both during its life and after harvest. As such, we should plant more trees instead of cutting it. We should teach our younger generation on the importance of preserving and conserving trees. Every tree planted is a new breath of life. After all, that's what exactly a tree stands for👇🏼

🌲T.R.E.E🌲 - "Taking Responsibility for the Earth and Environment"
This explains the purpose of our Let's Plant A TREE Program 2019. We would want to instill the noble thought of caring for the environment in the hearts of our children. We would want to work together to make the Earth greener and a cleaner planet.
Mr Shiv Sagar with Dr Kumaran Adakalam
It was truly a memorable day for all children and volunteers of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram as the event enabled all of us to contribute back to the well-being of our Mother Earth✌.  We take this moment to thank Global Environment Centre (GEC) for providing us this wonderful opportunity. Though it was a little tiring to be under the hot scorching sun, the satisfaction felt afterwards  made all the hard work worthwhile. We truly enjoyed the event😎!

As the Chinese proverb goes "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is NOW".

Plant A Tree🌱, Grow A Flower🌹... Let's Give Mother Earth Back Her Power🌍!!!
