  The residents of the Sri Saradha Devi Illam Welfare Association, Malaysia have celebrated the pongal festival with great enthusiasm at our association. This festival is dedicated to the sun god, Surya Bhagawan, and corresponds to Makar Sankranti, the harvest festival under many regional names celebrated throughout India. The three days of the Pongal festival are called Surya Pongal, and Mattu Pongal and Kaanum Pongal.

Culinary Practical Class by WHET Academy

On 8 & 9 March, during the Chinese New Year Break, WHET Academy has conducted a practical hands-on class for the children of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram. The class was conducted at their academy in Setia Alam.

The practical session gives the children an exposure of experiencing the baking at the academy itself. Children were also giving classroom briefing and were asked to perform a public speaking prior to the hands-on lesson.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Madam Karene and her team from WHET Academy for their noble efforts and support towards the children of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram☺!
