SSDI Ponggal Celebration 2023

  The residents of the Sri Saradha Devi Illam Welfare Association, Malaysia have celebrated the pongal festival with great enthusiasm at our association. This festival is dedicated to the sun god, Surya Bhagawan, and corresponds to Makar Sankranti, the harvest festival under many regional names celebrated throughout India. The three days of the Pongal festival are called Surya Pongal, and Mattu Pongal and Kaanum Pongal.

Sri Saradha Devi Ashram Sports Day

On 23rd December 2018, Sri Saradha Devi Ashram organised a Sports Day in conjuction with the school holidays. It was a fun-filled day where all children and volunteers participated in games prepared for them respectively.

The event which started at 10am in the morning ended at 5pm with a prize-giving ceremony. Children were divided into 4 groups with each group having an adult as their leader. They also have their own team color, cheers and dance.

All children were awarded for their participation. This event helped to foster teamwork and cooperation between children as well as the volunteers.
