SSDI Ponggal Celebration 2023

  The residents of the Sri Saradha Devi Illam Welfare Association, Malaysia have celebrated the pongal festival with great enthusiasm at our association. This festival is dedicated to the sun god, Surya Bhagawan, and corresponds to Makar Sankranti, the harvest festival under many regional names celebrated throughout India. The three days of the Pongal festival are called Surya Pongal, and Mattu Pongal and Kaanum Pongal.

Our Programs for You

In order to achieve our mission, we have developed programs that are considered as a means for us to achieve the objectives.


1. Sponsor a Child 


This program provides for an underprivileged child's living expenses, including education. 

2. Fund a Meal 


Sponsor a day’s meal for children on special occasions by donating RM 400 – RM 500 depending on the menu of your choice.

3. Be a volunteer


Volunteering at the children's home is a very popular program with volunteers. Participants forge close bonds with children whose disposition and attitude belie their difficult circumstances. The types of volunteering projects/programs you could be involved will include:
  • Teaching Educational Classes / Tuition
  • Fundraising Activities
  • Medical Volunteering
  • Teaching Art & Craft
  • Teaching Computer
  • Skills lessons i.e. flower decoration/cooking & baking or other skill base activities
